Mission Statement:
To ethically breed retrievers that have sound mind and body and a genetic love to hunt. To strengthen the bond between dog and owner through training in a way that builds drive and a dog’s love to work.
Rebecca Schroeder
Owner/Trainer/Breeder
I got started in the “dog world” after falling in love with my heart dog, Trigger, a German Shorthaired Pointer that was meant to be a temporary foster dog that ended up staying forever. After a lot of time spent hunting pheasants and grouse over Trigger, I learned that I loved hunting dogs and the job they have in the field. Since then, my passion has become training and breeding working retrievers with a genetic love for the hunt. The intensity and drive they have for their job is unmatched and every time I see that spark in a dog, it reminds me of why I love what I do so much!
I have been training dogs for 5+ years now. I have begun to compete in various dog sports and tests like Dock Diving, and Hunt Tests. I look forward to continuing to expand my knowledge base about other sports, tests, and competitions as I go!
I also love training basic obedience for companion dogs and confidence-building for dogs with generalized anxiety. I especially love teaching Cooperative Care, which allows dogs to ‘participate’ in their veterinary or maintenance care.
I graduated from Ripon College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychobiology. This background allows me to understand the fundamentals of how animals learn. This is why I believe in a scientific approach to training dogs, using Classical and Operant conditioning as the foundation for all new behaviors.
If you love dogs, the outdoors, hunting, and spending all day at dog events or just spending time with your dog, we would probably get along! I look forward to working with you and your dog.
