Trenlock Kennels & Retrievers Training Programs

Trenlock offers a wide variety of training programs, from Gun Dog, Obedience, Confidence Building, to Puppy Introduction and Classes. The programs are offered in a variety of formats; Board and Train, Private One-On-One lessons, and Group Classes (when available). All training programs are centered around building your dog’s drive to work hard and to further develop the bond between you and your dog.

All Trenlock Kennels & Retrievers Training Programs are designed to appeal to a dog’s scientific & behavioral understanding of learning through Classical and Operant conditioning. Trenlock believes in the statement, “Train the dog in front of you.” All training programs are individualized to meet each dog’s needs, primary reinforcers, and learning style. Trenlock firmly believes in building a solid foundation for a dog to be able to thrive beyond basic obedience. This starts with effective and consistent communication between dog and owner.

While successful dog training depends heavily on the dog training itself, the true success in a training program relies on the trainer teaching the owner what the dog has learned. Here at Trenlock, we work hard to make sure that owners are confident in handling their dogs, taking the time to explain and demonstrate what their dog has learned!

Training Programs

  • Trenlock offers a specialized training program for retrievers. The Gun Dog Program is designed to harness and build natural the retrieve drive, transforming dogs into well-rounded hunting dogs. Trenlock believes in individuality, making every dog’s journey through the program a unique one.

    This program is limited to retrieving breeds only and for dogs ages 6 months and older. Programs can be completed through a Board and Train, One-On-One lessons, or Group Classes (when available).

  • The Trenlock Obedience Program strives to help dogs and owners with basic obedience commands, composure, confidence building, or cooperative care. Every dog learns differently, which is why all varieties of the Trenlock Obedience Programs are created individually, with the unique personality, drive, primary reinforcers, and needs of each dog.

    This program is available to all breeds and for dogs ages 6 months and older. Programs can be completed through a Board and Train, One-On-One lessons, or Group Classes (when available).

  • The Trenlock Puppy Gun Dog Starter Program gives new retriever puppies an advantage before starting formal training. This program is designed to be an introduction to all the things a working retriever would need to do! This includes bird introduction, early puppy retrieves, building drive, water intro (weather permitting), and gun intro!

    This program is limited to retrieving breeds only and for dogs under the age of 6 months. Programs can be completed through a Board and Train, or One-On-One lessons.

  • This Puppy program is unlike any other puppy class or puppy training program available. Trenlock offers the Puppy Obedience Starter program as an introduction to learning, shaping, working for food or toys, crate training, leash walking, and many other things!

    This program is available to all breeds and for dogs under the age of 6 months. Programs can be completed through a Board and Train, or One-On-One lessons.
